Contest Theme: Neuroscience
> Neuroscience Research Proposal Challenge
> A list of specific neuroscience topics will be released on August 1st. Participants must follow one of the given topics to develop their proposal.
Contest Format:
This challenge is only open to individual contestants.
- 4-page
- Double spaced
- Times New Roman
- 12-point font
- With Title, Abstract, Introduction/ Background, Objectives, Methodology, APA Citations, and other optional sections (clearly labelled and numbered figures, ethical considerations, next steps, etc.)
Judging Criteria (each 20%):
- Creativity and novelty
- Communication and organization
- Relevance and impact
- Scientific rigor and accuracy
- Methodology and feasibility
Eligibility:
High school students in the upcoming 2025-26 academic year (international students allowed).
Registration:
- Early bird, $3.00 USD registration fee – until August 3rd
- Regular, $5.00 USD registration fee – until August 31st
Proposal topic release date:
August 1st, 2025, 00:01am (Pacific Time)
Proposal topic will be released on the submission form and via email.
Submission period:
August 1st 00:01 am (Pacific Time) to August 31st 11:59 pm (Pacific Time), 2025
Winner announcements:
Winners will be announced by email, on September 30 (estimated).
Prizes: (prize funds are growing, dependent on number of registration)
1st place: $150 USD
2nd place: $75 USD
3rd place: $50 USD
Top 10% submissions: Gold award
Top 15% submissions: Silver award
Top 25% submissions: Bronze award
All participants: Certificate of Participation
Winner Recognition:
Top 3 submissions + Gold Award winners will be recognized on website and social media
