In patients with mild traumatic brain injury who do not meet formal psychiatric diagnostic criteria, how does early detection of microstructural alterations in limbic and frontolimbic white matter pathways using diffusion tensor imaging compared to patients without such alterations or healthy controls influence the development and severity of long-term emotional dysregulation and social isolation and the effectiveness of targeted behavioural interventions within 12 months post-injury?
